12. Responsible production and consumption

Many South African public spaces are dirty due to littering and illegally dumped waste. In this video we would like to inform and encourage everyone on how to take action.

Water sources across the Western Cape were running low. If this catastrophe taught us anything, its that we need to re-think the way we use water. Water is life- there is no replacement!

The students of ACOHOF Family Farm School are searching the Mairin River in Tatum for mussels, tadpoles and mud fish which were once abundant in the river and are now in danger of disappearing completely.

Waste and environmental management has been a problem for some time. A recycling project for communities and waste pickers was set up in Kwa-Zulu Natal. This initiative has provided employment to the local youth as waste pickers in cooperatives. 

In our country, Benin, many regions do not have access to electricity yet. The vision to turn the municipality of Toucountouna into a case study is gradually becoming visible.

How can household waste become a resource? I'm inspired to do this work at SINVAD to help provide solutions to the problems of household waste and prevent illegal dumping in my municipality.
