Raimunda, from the semi-arid region, Sertão Nordestino, fights against migration by creating a Theater Group. After national recognition, it faces the departure of its members in search of study and work. She becomes a teacher and coordinates the Group to value rural identity, stop the exodus and promote local development.

If you grew up bilingually you might have already wondered why your personality seems to differ depending on which language you are speaking. Maybe you are more outgoing when speaking Spanish? Or more shy in Dutch? In this video I briefly suggest possible reasons for this “personality shift” that takes place with people who were raised bilingually.

Education is the key to a promising future, but numerous children in rural Benin face daily challenges to gain access to it. The schools are far away from home and the resources limited, but the determination of students and teachers persists.

Luis Beltrán, a teacher at NUFED No. 183 in Tontoles, symbolizes the determination of a community that fought for the possibility of education. Despite limited resources and lack of support from the government, the members of the community established their own school with perseverance and support from local leaders.

The seed house aims to unite us with the community, and also with the school, by exchanging seeds and storing them.

Despite the difficulties, we are moving towards water sovereignty with these sustainable techniques, changing the reality of the Brazilian semi-arid region.

The mandala is a circular space where we grow vegetables, fruits and native plants. We also raise ducks, which help maintain the balance of the system.

Teaching at EFA awakens young farmers. This learning is brought to our homes and communities, improving our quality of life.

Goats are versatile and survive better in the semi-arid region than cattle and horses. Therefore, raising goats, when carried out responsibly and with adequate care, not only contributes to the sustainability of the educational organization, but also teaches essential values ​​such as respect for animal life and environmental preservation.

In Belgium, studying is affordable thanks to public funding from the government. Low tuition fees and scholarships make studying accessible to many. This is in sharp contrast to countries such as the U.S., where students often carry heavy debts.
