What about Preserving the Culture of the Countryside?

By not realizing its importance and value, the countryside has been letting its culture die little by little, which can be explored in many ways.

Identity of the peasant culture

Hi, I am Fabricio Américo Gama, a young farmer concerned with the preservation of the peasant culture, lived by peasant youngsters, sons and daughters of family farmers.

The peasant culture is defined by its social traditions, rural representation and organization, our typical foods of each region, religious festivals, customs and family traditions, cultural festivities such as bonfires and folk festivals. In addition, we produce food for 70% of the Brazilian population.

In recent years, the peasant culture has been leaving its original space, as a marketing product for the large urban centers.

By not realizing its importance and value, the countryside has been letting its culture die little by little, which can be explored in many ways. The peasant culture can be very attractive; urban centers are exporting and exploring these cultural manifestations. It is sad to witness a situation whereby the countryside loses its features. And above all, the peasant culture is being taken advantage of throughout the Brazilian territory and internationally, without the explorers being aware of its origins.

The roots of this culture are in the popular knowledge, our traditions, etc. And these aspects mainly denominate our culture.

Personal identity is essential to support status. And why is the identity of being a peasant not as important?

Why is culture not being preserved? Why do we let culture be taken over by the market of traditions?
