Paiter Women

We, Paiter Suruí women, face so many challenges after making contact with non-indigenous people.  We learned a language that is not ours, to communicate, to leave the village, the place in which we grew up, in order to study. 

We learned how to use communication devices in our favor. We Paiter women did indeed manage to break down the barriers. We proved that we are capable of achieving whatever we want. We fought for rights in healthcare, education and politics to contribute to our communities. 

I am accomplishing one of my goals, namely, majoring in psychology. I got here with a lot of effort and dedication. I am happy to have achieved this. 

Like me, you too can achieve whatever you want.
