Pecer Anduyan is married to Luisa. They live at Barrio Kagingkingan, Anahawan, Southern Leyte.
When they returned from Manila where they started their family, they had practically nothing. Armed with the skill of driving a motorcycle, he supported his family by ferrying passengers from mountain villages. That’s the way he made a living for his family for years.
He joined a group of residents in their area that organized themselves with NGO’s support. They participated in a project aimed to augmenting their livelihood through sustainable livestock raising.

Hi, my name is Klent and I work as a Community Facilitator in CLAD. I’m from the municipality of Calubian and it is located at the north-western part of Leyte. The common problems in our community is poverty, more of the calubianons earn less income especially in mountain areas and it causes many things like malnutrition, hunger, committing crimes, out of school youths, and people migrating into other places.
This is the story about a changed woman named Marites Curato, 54 years old, married, has one child and is a rice farmer in the community (Brg) of Los Angeles.
She joined the project and attended the pre membership workshop in September 16, 2014. Marites was a silent and shy type as a member. She typically attended all the trainings, workshops and meetings but never participated in any discussion nor shared her idea to others.
Iloilo City is an urbanized area and one of the provinces in the Philippines. There, lived poor families considered as “Informal Settlers”.

Sandy Matunog is a 62 year old single rice farmer growing a traditional variety in a hectare farm located at Barangay Bangcas A, Hinunangan, So. Leyte.
His farm was earlier dug for treasure hunting but nothing was found. Because of his continuous learning through seminars on sustainable agriculture, he makes his land more productive and sustainable through the application of DIVERSIFICATION & ORGANIC FARMING. His BURNING INTEREST TO MAKE THINGS BETTER WERE SIMPLY IRRESISTIBLE!
